Net-Zero Energy Upgrades
Akro standard construction includes the following upgrades:
- 3″ x 6″ pressure treated sill plates
- Steel I-Beam frame for seismic stability
- All ductwork in conditioned airspace
- 1/2″ space between siding and exterior wall subsiding for rain drain
- Long-lasting concrete tile roof with space between tile and roof sheeting to eliminate thermal bridging and provide continuous air drying.
Optional Net-Zero Energy upgrades: (Cost will be adjusted to respective house plans)
- 8″ exterior walls with staggered studs to eliminate thermal transfer.
- Raised heel trusses to allow for full insulation depth above exterior walls.
- Triple pane windows reduce thermal transfer.
- Closed-cell spray foam plus blown-in fiberglass for walls R-41, floor R-45.
- Increase blown-in fiber glass in attic from R-49 to R-60.
- Extra insulation in garage, floors, sound proofing.
- Add conduit from electric meter to attic to facilitate future solar panel installation.
- Third party certification for energy efficiency needed for utility incentives and tax rebates.
