Net-Zero Energy Upgrades – Lot 36/38
Akro standard construction includes the following upgrades:
- 3″ x 6″ pressure treated sill plates
- Steel I-Beam frame for seismic stability
- All ductwork in conditioned airspace
- 3/8″ space between siding and exterior wall subsiding for rain drain
- Long-lasting concrete tile roof with space between tile and roof sheeting to eliminate thermal bridging and provide continuous air drying.
Optional Net-Zero Energy upgrades:
- 8″ exterior walls with staggered studs to eliminate thermal transfer. $1,650.
- Raised heel trusses to allow for full insulation depth above exterior walls. $950
- Triple pane windows reduce thermal transfer. $1,800
- Closed-cell spray foam plus blown-in fiberglass for walls R-41, floor R-45. $12,540
- Increase blown-in fiber glass in attic from R-49 to R-60. $400
- Extra insulation in garage, floors, sound proofing. $1,000
- Add conduit from electric meter to attic to facilitate future solar panel installation. $120
- Certification for Energy Efficiency needed for utility incentives and tax rebates. $900
- Total Net-Zero energy package: $19,360
